My Name is Alvis, when I was two years old my dad bought a brand new 1973 Super Beetle. Some of my earliest memories are of riding in the little compartment behind the back seat of that orange beauty, it was the 70s no one used child car seats back then. When I was 7 I sat in my friends family wagon, a Baywindow camp mobile. It was then I fell in love with Volkswagen vans. When I turned 16 my dad bought a 1970 bus and I was ecstatic. I was given the choice, drive my mom's completely restored 71 BMW 2500 or that old bus. In my heart and mind there was no choice to be made. I drove the VW until I graduated high school. During my teen years I always wanted a Vanagon. I loved their size and how modern they were. Lol it wasn't until 2004 that I was actually able to buy one. My dad found Wolfgang at a local shop. His previous owner had overheated his 1.9l engine on a trip down from Dallas. It was bad. The oil looked like peanut butter and had the same consistency. My dad talked to the shop owner and he said the lady wants $450.00 for him. I told my dad to buy him on the spot. I hadn't even looked at the van yet. All I knew was, it was a 1985 Wolfsburg edition with a pop top. I was living in Austin at the time so that weekend I came up to see MY Vanagon. We put a spare 2.1 in him that we had laying around and I drove him an hour and a half back home smiling all the way. In the 12 years that I have owned Wolfgang no one has worked on him other than my dad or me including his TDI swap. I hope my love and passion for these wonderful vans comes through in the products we design, make, and sell. Everything that I offer for sale is something I use on my dear Wolfgang. Thank you guys for giving me a chance to earn your business. I know your money is hard earned and I do everything I can to keep the price down and my stuff affordable. I don't have the fancy tools and powder coating ovens like the big boys do, but I promise every thing I sell is made, finished, packaged, and shipped by hand with love and care by just two people, my dad and me, in our little shop in here in Central Texas.
